McHale won heifers Vaughan res

Sale pretty decent a lot of quality top calf was teets going for $20.00 a pound

I always liked that sale, I didnt get to make it this year. Does anybody know why they sell by the pound? i hate that

yeah farmer's can do Market heifers but they don't compete with the juniors and don't do breed champions.  It is a really good sale and the reason they do it by the pound is because it is run by the State's Extension service who's goal is not really show cattle but beef promotion, that's they only reasoning I've ever been told.

I have heard that they tried to sell by the head one year and they cattle prices were alot lower than when they sell by the pound.
