Since Obama's speech seems to be a pretty hot topic, why not throw this one out. I saw it last week and thought it was a poor depicition of "Right" America. Go figure, Nancy Pelosi's daughter made it.

She went and picked out every stereotypical right-winged American and made us look like we're a bunch of nuts.

Any one else see it?

she MADE right winged america stereotyped, something liberals supposedly are against.  this just proves liberals are intolerant of diversity.

the strategy is to define your enemy before he defines you.  bin laden did it effectively to the rest of the world.  La Raza has done it, the left has done it.

imagine an economy without conservatives.  no investment till the revolution and a population adjustment.

I couldn't hardly watch the whole thing.Missed some peices parts. It was so foul. They found every  nutball out there. When they went down south I was embarrassed for them. It is 2009 and people still think like that like the guy who said his wife wouldn't vote if it was up to him because she is a woman. Poor taste.

I think that was the low point, and the liberal use of the "n" word, very disgraceful. If you turned it off then you missed all the conspiracy theories "right" America had about Obama, e.g. being sworn in on the Koran, that he's the new Hitler, blah blah blah.

Got to typing too fast. I couldn't hardly watch because I was so shocked. The theories again were nutz. So sad.

I wonder how much time and money that the Democrats spend on bashing Republicans. Seems like they could pay some mortgages or help some homeless, now that would be a better to spend money?????????????????

Congress and this president scare the hell out of me. Socialism sounds so good and fair. The left always want to be judged on their intentions and not the results of their intentions. One of the best examples of how socialism doesn't work is as follows. I heard Ken Root give a speach at a block and bridle banquet about a hundred years ago. He had visited russia's farming system. Each man was in charge of like 500 acres. They were paid a bottle of vodka and a food allowance for living. Everybody was paid the same. It was fair. However the government gave each family a little plot to garden. In a nutshell...the 500 acres was not real productive. There was no incentive for excellence. But when the workday was done the farmer and his family jumped into the garden work. They got to keep what they produced. It was not uncommon  for the 5 acre garden to out produce the peoples 500 acre farm. People are inheritantly good, bad, lazy, achieving, drunk, addicted or whatnot. When you take the incentive out of the mix it doesn't work. We can't punish achievers. Obama has never had a job in his life. He has never run a bussiness. He is a government man. He is going to redistribute wealth. He is going to punish achievers. You cannot unring a bell and you cannot get rid of a government program once some good doer starts in. The peoples Republic of Obama is here and I fear the direction that especially congress is taking us. Obama claimed there will be no earmarks on bills he signs. There are 8,000 earmarks on the bill he signs. If he does veto I will throw my hat in the air and hoorah. If he signs the damn thing he is a liar and a socialist. My god Pelossee is a far left nutcake from California. Their state is broke and begging for money. Yet she is in charge of one branch of congress. I am just glad that I will be dead in 30 or 40 years when our grandchildren try and turn the Liberal Titanic they are building. jmo

I heard they got the earmarks down around four thousand. Now that is a lot better. What a joke. The story you refer to is very similar to when Americans settled the country and is the reason for having Thanksgiving!

Pelosi's daughter...........the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Her mother is an idiot too. Sound familiar, "we won, we'll write the bill"!!!!! So much for bipartisan.

it should be obvious by now that they want conservatives to pay for their agenda.  they will never pay with time or money at the same rate as conservatives to help people.  simple provable fact.  liberals in general, are greedy.  biden being a prime example.  no money to charity, no extra taxes paid to "get in the game".  what a lunatic.

Well, since I considered part of the "lunatic fringe" as posted on another thread, I guess my opinion isn't worth much to anyone but me.  But here it is anyway,  I don't think it will take 30-40 years for this thing to play out--its happening right now.  We are already sending much of the interest we pay on our loans and our national debt directly to other countries--they own our debt and have interest in most of our banks.  In addition, they use their currency(which is worth much more versus the dollar than it was just a short time ago) to buy up our real estate and businesses.  They become more and more influential in our country with each move.  They don't have to physically take over our country to accrue the assets and most of the profit of  American industry---we'll pay it to them in interest on our national debt(taxes), through dividends on the stock they own in our companies, or as rent on the real estate they own here.  The current recession is an absolute dream for those countries with excess cash(most of who are not friendly to us).  They are buying up stocks in American companies at record low prices and the only thing they need to be careful of is that they don't buy too much, too quickly or they'll send a signal that would turn the stock market around.    Meanwhile we borrow more of their money to put them even further in control.  That's how world order changes most often--in small increments--not in world wars.

oakbar, i agree with what you just said, except the conclusion.  war throughout history have been the most accurate revaluation of currency.  it's usually not the war itself, but how other issues play out.  take the spanish armada for instance.  the battle was a draw, with i think only one spanish ship being sunk during the battle itself, but since the british fleet was in the west, the spanish armada had to sail east, then north around the british isles, and they lost i think 60% of their fleet due to weather.  they lost a good portion of their crews as well to disease, lack of food etc.

wars create a consolidation of resources, ie, human population and disrupt supply, production, health lines.  it's really amazing how little actual loss of human life occurs during actual battle.  similar to a football game where there's only 5 minutes of actual action.

war is simply economics.  many astute leaders have observed this over and over.

here's a really good book on the subject.  excerpts below on google books.  the section on the spanish armada are not in the link.  buy or check out the book at your local library.  it's a fast read.  it also explains how nelson defeated the french with an essentially suicidal move.  he stood on the quarterdeck and was shot by a musket shot from a french rifleman looking for fancy uniforms.  his martyrdom essentially overwhelmed his personal shortcomings.

Yes, I agree with you Knabe about wars readjusting currency, etc.   My point, though not very well made, was that we probably won't see as much military conflict now and in the future between "super powers".    There's reallly no need if they can buy up our assets with money we are paying them on our debt!

9 out of the last 10 days the stock market has dropped. People with money in the market don't like what they are hearing from Barama and they are pulling their money out!

Now the liberals are even trying to distance themselves from the "liberal" label  by calling their idealogy " progressive"!!  Call it what you will, its still liberalism and our "progress" could ultimately be called "bankruptcy"!  Pelosi's reportedly not happy with Obama because he isn't taking every single one of the troops out of Iraq like he promised and he's waiting until next year to repeal the Bush tax cuts.  Let's see if I was a terrorist what would I do?  Probably use the next 18 months to recruit and train a large group of extremists so I could cause the most problems in Iraq in 19 or 20 months or so to show the world that the U.S. was wrong and wasted their effort.  Way to give them a goal to prepare for Mr. President!!
