So why did the Upgrade semen go so cheap? Normally he runs in the triple digits, but according to the sale list he went for $40/straw??  ???

My opinion would be that people are kinda over all the hype about a bull you don't see a lot of calves out of . Not saying he isn't worth it either way but it would be nice to see a lot more proof out of him .

I agree with this one! Need to see some proof before I go spending that much on semen. Seems a lot of bulls are starting this way, selling few straws for a lot of money! The only one I have seen it work for so far is Steel Force. And that may be because a few really big ranches have flushed their best to him to get some better stuff out there. We went to a sale last year in OK where they had about 30 or 40 steel force half bloods, and most sold high. I saw a bunch of them throughout the year showing, and only one really impressed me. I was glad I did not jump in on the "gotta be the first to own one" hype.... but he has had some really good ones!

my thoughts exactly..  same type of deal with steel force.  except with steel force, alot of progency has sold on the owners production sale and been pushed harder whereas i dont think it has been donte the same with upgrade just my 2 cents

The Upgrade lot was also the very last lot to sell and the bleachers where emptying very quickly.  Not much interest?  Not sure, I was there for the 3000C.

I know i had bids in on the lut and 3000c i didnt figure i would get the 3000c bought but dang it went high.  Not sure what happened there I just bought some for less than half of that

Small 2 straw lot.  Kevin Mears was on the telephone with someone and got it bought.  I am sure he will help with shipping.  Saugahatchee brought 200/straw at the Blue Sage dispersal at the end of October so that was where I was heading.  It works and people are not willing to part with it hence, $$$$$$.
