I've seen several and they are impressive. He is adding alot of bone, hair and putting really nice fronts on them. I have also heard from several different breeders that there Salty Dogs are very good. Im going to try and get some pics soon. It's either been snowing or raining as of late.

We had our 2nd Salty Dog last night.  Really nice brockle heifer calf weighing about 80 lbs.  The first one weighed 81 lbs.  LOTS of vigor and hair and bone.  Probably our best calves so far.  We will definitely use him again.   (clapping)

Thanks for info and the picture. Anymore pics of future calves would be greatly appreciated. :)

My father in law had a heifer that was about 96 lbs out of a Simmi/Angus cow. She is a nice calf but I was surprised that Salty Dog didn't put more bone on her. I did see him at the Ohio Beef Expo last year and his bone size was ridiculous, probably too much for a bull, but JMO. The calf was unassisted out of a large cow that could have a lot bigger calf if needed. I have heard that the heifers are in the 80 lb range and the bulls near 100lbs.

I thought he was the best young bull I looked at last spring at stud. His frame and bone looked like a 2 year old complaired to some of the new bulls out there. I think he will throw great calves that will top salebarns if they don't get sold for club calves. And thats exactly what I look for, because all the steers have 1 option and if they are not sold privately by jan 1st for me they are off to the salebarn.

is it me or does that calf for a couple of days old. . . toe out HORRIBLY

I was kind of thinking that too, Time will tell and maybe it will grow out of it, however, When I saw Salty Dog in Denver I agree with people big bone and big hair, but after you got past the "WOW" factor of him on display and looked at his front end his toes pointed East and West not North and South.

Most calves do turn out and have some wacky feet placement when just born. i judge feet at about a month of age, it gives them time to stretch out those tendons a bit
