Yea, in my opinion the Trump on Trump response was smart alec & unsolicited. You had somebody asking a legit question and looking for help and guidance, not a schmuck running his pie hole. I not hiding anything. Yes, the Salutes can be larger calves at birth. By the same token they can also, be normal size also. Once again it can depend a lot on what kind of cow he is used on. He has a 8.8 BEPD. You also have a very popular bull right now that has a 8.5 BEPD(Phildon JBS Fringe). He looks a lot like the bull that grass feed says he just bought 20 straws of semen on. They both can be used in the right situation. They are not for everyone or every cow. JMHO.

could be doc.. did you figure that out on your own-- or was it b/c I told everyone who the bull was? Maybe I got such a great deal on the sticks- I couldn't pass it up... Bull made like that deserves to be used- I think he's been mated to the wrong kind of cows to produce those birthweights. He's being promoted for use on BIG cows-- and with BIG cows, comes BIG birthweights. i think breed him moderate- and don't worry about it. I was told be prepared to pull all of his calves--- but then again-- it will pay off when you sell them every single day.. Don't worry, i saw plenty of horid long legged, shallow gutless wonders this weekend- almost all sired by brothers to the bull in question on this page. Bloodstone, Asset, his brothers, and whatever else- i really honestly didn't pay attention- just way broken records.

It would be good for you to talk to Doc then. He has quiet a bit of irish blood and probably can tell you what you want. I have an idea of what she might look like. Is she smaller framed but needs some depth of rib. You want carrier genetics no carrier genetics? Double Stuff and Jazz lines work well together. Jazz lines also seem to work with some of the Trump females as well. He might add some needed body to your female. the Jazz bloodline will not add and size. Sonny bloodlines also work well on Double Stuff in my experience. There are quiet a few Sonny son's that woudl work as well. If you want to go off toward more maternal oriented soggier made , moderate cattle, then you have Captain Obvious and JTM's bull complete which I am sure with his new crop he can advise. There is also RS DV 034 which I saw in person and really liked. Contrary to what people say, I believe there is alot of diversity out there you just have to look and use it. I really liked Alta Cedar First Blood. I crossed him back on a Johnny walker red x sonny female and had a beautiful heifer unassisted. Not sure this helps. Just my two cents.
