Well when I was in Canada, it amazed me the number of times people asked me if I'd ever seen snow before. So, here are some pics I took yesterday looking over to the Snowy Mountains.
See, we have snow... and we're even heading into summer now!!

So will those sheep ever see snow in their pasture?

Yes definitely, as I said we're coming in to summer now.
But the area I was in actually had snow on Saturday, as did several other parts of the State.
It was a wild day in NSW on Saturday... I had my mother visiting me and thought it would be nice to take her up on the Sydney Harbour Bridge... well, it wasn't so nice when we had winds of 74km/hour plus!!

Beautiful country.

About the snow questions I equate that to the same type of people that used to ask me if my twins were boys or girls and when I replied that there was one of each they would then ask if they were identical. ???

Well I know I'm not the brightest bulb on the porch and possibly depriving some village of an idiot but really.......................
Actually Carla correct me if I'm wrong but there are not a lot of areas in Australia where livestock would see any accumulation of snow are there?

Here in my part of Australia we have no snow because we are close to the sea although in1986 we did have 4 inches of show across the whole area. Here are some pictures from home (the middle two )and around our area.

Last year my daughter applied for a exchange student trip through her school to go to Australia. It was for 12years olds and younger. Well she would have turned 13 while she was on the way back on the plane so she was not able to go. She was devastated. After all the photos from over there I sure wish she would have made it. It looks awesome. I would have been jealous.

You're right Dan, there's not a lot of areas that see a great deal of snow, but there are plenty of places where it does regularly snow.
The Snowy Mountains is where we get the biggest snowfalls and where there's a reasonable sized ski industry.
These pics were taken not far from the Snowies, in an area known as the Monaro. The Monaro is very dry compared to alot of other places right now.

I sure like the idea of sheep. Is it necessary to have woven wire fence to contain them? My farm is completely barb wire and I don't reallly feel rebuilding it all to run some sheep. I have always thought about running them with my cows but my fence situation has been my issue. Columbus, Ohio has the second largest Somalian population in the US and sheep and goats are in demand. Not sure if that is the reason but I have been told it is.

No wou don't need woven fence- if you've got a few strands of plain or barb wire that's usually enough.
Unless you have Dorpers- they're painful little #@%*#$!!
