I know Sullivans sells something called STRIDE.  Never tried it, maybe someone else on here has.

I would definately have a certified animal chiropractor look at him. If you can't find one in your area, PM me. I can find one for you. I work on this all the time. Not saying it will fix him. but, if it is something spinal related, it should fix him.

Short strided is a confirmation problem that can be helped some but will NEVER go away.  A good mineral program,  exercise, and not just on show day-- these kinds can not arrive at 8 show at 10 and look decent-  Don't know what  the  m eidication program is BUT  BANAMINE STARTING 4-6 DAYS BEFORE THE SHOW,  maybe a n asprin along with that the day before-- the animal is tight and must feel good enough to loosen up.  Loose enough to have some pep in her step - almost to the point of trying to escape-  and forget the acepromazine

Sometimes when we show we run into a problem with the cows in the ring getting bunched up and not being able to walk freely. We've had judges tell us that too. Make sure to have whoever's showing hold back a little and allow the cow to have additional room to walk freely. Our cows are always a little hyped up in the ring anyway and will show more energy in their step than at home. Hopefully if you give him the room to move he won't look so short strided.
