How soon after calveing has anybody confirmed a cow being re-bred ??? Talking good healthy , fleshy , mature cows in their prime ??? Looking for the least amount of time you've experienced ??? Thanks

Settled a really good old milk cow AI  even after she had a set of twins 26 days post calving. That is my record I don't even hope I have to beat! That 30-45 day range is doable.....

Three years ago I was short on places to put a bull so I left one in with a group of calving cows.  He bred 5 cows that at the longest would have calved 3 weeks prior to being bred.  He was only in for three weeks.  It really messed up my fall calving went from early September to early July.

have seen several cows rebreed from 25-31 days after calving.. I'm pretty sure that 20 some days after, the body automatically recycles...  if in good flesh...

I have used cidr's on a lot of cows starting 25 days after calving that puts you breeding them 34 days after calving usually 50% will settle from the 1st service. The one's that don't settle usually get jump started and show really good reheats. Hope that helps.

I have seen a few cows re breed at 18 days after calving. Two years ago, I had a cow that had a backwards calf that ended up being a difficult birth. It took me a couple hours to get it out and I was really wishing I had taken her to the vet for a c- section. Miracle #1 was that the calf was still alive when I got it out. I was afraid I may have damaged the cow as she tore her uterus a little in my attempts to get the calf up into the birth canal. Miracle #2 occured when she was in standing heat 18 days following this difficult birth. I bred her to one of our herd sires and she stuck to this service and had a beautiful heifer calf last year( we are thinking of showing her this fall). In 2011, she again calved and gained 20 days over her calf last year, so she obviously bred back very quickly after calving. I am not sure if there is any research on this topic, but I have seen some cow lines that seem to be very fertile and rebreed faster than some others.

Justintime - that is what I was looking to hear , right in there 16 to 18 days after calveing , I looked at the vet pretty cross eyed and really questioned it. I think I asked him five times , are you sure ! Never heard of such a thing happening that fast , I did however watch the bull all over here right in there but thought he was confused too !
