If this is the old Windstar....which I think it is......he was owned by Stan Bixler in Oklahoma.....or BR "Bixler Ranch"......doubt he would have ever been tested, but could have been.....Stan would know.  He was in the ......Bull Stories video I done about Denver, talking about Take Charge.

BR Windstar Reg 3942445 is PHAC. THF

What  I can remember about the few I saw were nice front ends?? I could probably find semen if I thought about it for a bit? I know of some folks that used a son of his for a long time.

He was a cool bull to look at but the calves just never really hit it big from what I remember.

the topsires clearence list was what I was looking at...  Thought I might find some cleanup semen to use on bottom end, and problem breeders down the road... we all have them whether or not you want to admit it...  Thought, there might be something that could work in today's world...  with that pedigree, I'd say it work...  Windstar has plenty of calves registerd out of him--

IDN, I might give it a try, even though I  hate the PHAC...  I can put up w/ TH... atleast it won't kill the cow on an accident!!

I always wanted to give him a try. There was a guy in our general neighbor that had a Windstar cow. He could breed her to anything and she threw a thick calf. Attached is a bull out of a Windstart Son. I have a Windstar picture but its too small and I can't seem to blow it up.

Windstar was pretty thick for his day, and he had the most hair I had ever seen up until that time. Of course, there are lots that have hair as good or better today. I have not seen many offspring, but it seemed to me that many of his grandsons and grand daughters were maybe better than his direct offspring.

Could be hit and miss. We used him with success. Breed him to cows with lots of set to there legs. he can put them out straight. The Steermakers are sounder maybe not as cool as the Windstars when they click. I would say that may be a good option for you. Use him on your worst cow and he will hit.

Just from the picture he is really nice, but way too straight on those rear wheels.

We used Windstar when he first came out.  Got one good one, most just average with poor performance, and a couple weird ones.

I think Windstar is the sire of Suds who was a pha carrier as I remember it. Course Windstar was between Suds and stinger.

I had a Hereford cow I bread to him maybe 10 years ago had a super Bull calf but got knee issues shortly after a few months of age the calf came out looking very much like a Hereford though....Pretty sure windstar was out of suds or the other way around something makes me think steer maker is in there some place as well
