We have roan Bonanza son out of a Rider Eagle cow available. Not sure how far away you are, we are in SE Minnesota. His calves have come easy, avg BW 84 lbs, grown like crazy with good muscling and we are keeping his daughters as replacements. His fleshing, docility, head and feet are excellent too. Check out our website if you would like and let me know or make and offer. Hope your search goes well. Thanks for your time and the opportunity.

No problem I was wondering if that was a possibility. Haven't had any calves yet but one we are using now A.I. and naturally on some of our heifers is:

Homedale Creole 135, who is a really nice red bull. He had a WW of 830 lbs I believe. He is available from Genex for $20/straw.

Good luck and thanks for the comments on our bull.

Waukaru Coppertop 464; available at Origen.  Using him on Angus & SimAngus cows here.  Good calving ease, steers are top of the crop.

Agree that Saskvalley Ramrod is the Shorthorn bull with the best commercial acceptance I know of walking right now.  He is essentially a complete package and will put out good purebred sons and daughters as well.

I like him but for some reason he always slips my mind. Wht kind of birth weights can I expect out of him?

You better talk to Brock Eagon about the job his Sneed bulls have done for him.

Kiblercattle: I assume you are in the United States, so I have no idea what you can expect for birthweights.  We are in central Saskatchewan.  I have been told that birthweights decrease as you go farther south, but I have no proof of that.  Our Ramrod bull calves probably average between 95 and 100 pounds and the heifer calves probably around 85-90 pounds.  This is very normal for us.  I have never gone through the our records, but I don't' recall ever assisting a birth of a Ramrod calf.  My  memory is not perfect so we may have helped the odd one but I don't remember one.  Once again I have not gone back through the records but I would guess over the past few  years we have had a somewhere around a hundred Ramrod calves born on the place.
