Is anyone on here going to make the pilgrimage to WHR?  It has been discussed at our house and I even reserved a hotel room....but any plans this time of year are subject to change on 2 seconds notice! :-\

Any how, I was just curious if anyone was going!!

Let me know what the ''breds'' sired by Weebollabolla Theodore look like up close 'n personal.

I don't think I'll make it ! I went in 05, 06, and in 07 I went through all the sale cattle a couple of weeks before the sale. Nice place, nice cattle, and nice people.

I can't go but I really thought about making the trip--even from Iowa.  My daughter will be showing her Trump/Lovely Lady heifer at the Cyclone Classic in Ft. Dodge, IA this weekend.  I would really appreciate it if someone would let me know how Lots 29A, B, & C look and how they sell.  I bought their mother (Augusta Pride 886) last fall at Schrag's.  In fact, she's still out there being flushed to Grey Goose.  She had a heifer calf out of SS Deadwood in early October that Cory tells me is pretty good(I haven't been out to see it yet).  A flushmate to the 3 WHR heifers sold in the Heifer Futurity sale in Louisville last fall for $5900.

Have a good time--I'll be thinking about you!!

Oakbar, Did you buy that Trump/Lovely Lady at the Shorthorn Pride Sale ? If you did she is a good rip. I own a Lovely Lady that I bought from Cory. She's out of Pure Pride. That cow family has put out some great females.

Good question GB!

I would be curious to know how Theodore's progeny looks also.  I haven't seen very many pictures of them here in the States.

Looks like we are not going to make it.....mini ice storm here in the refrigerator of the west.  Not fair to leave the hubby holding the bag when it is back down to 27 degrees!  Sigh....maybe next year.

Shortdawg,

Thanks for the compliment on our Trump/Lovely Lady heifer!!  I really like her--in fact my daughter will be showing her at the Cylcone Classic in Ft. Dodge tomorrow and Sunday.  She's a little later maturing like a lot of the Trumps, but like I said, I really like her and so does my daughter so that what's important.  We're trying to figure out what to breed her to right now.  We'll try to get some pictures of her this weekend so you can give me your opinion of her!!

Again, Thanks for the compliment-- I hope we can meet somewhere down the road!!

Ok, everyone at my house changed their mind again.....threw some bags in the car and 12 hours later the boys and I  were at WHR.  Im sitting in the Holiday Inn...my head spinning after looking at so many good shorties.  I will try my best to keep track of prices and such!  This is so exciting!!!!

NHR,

Thanks for the information on 25 B & C.    Do you know what 29A, B, & C sold for??

Thanks,

Oakbar

Oakbar, I just sent you a pm.  I have 2/3 of the prices, had to get on the road, so missed the end lots.  I am excited to finally own some Augusta Pride and Bloodstone genetics at our place!  After years of waiting and wishing!

I am pooped!  But worth the long trip!

I think 25B was $19.5k
25C was like $21k
How did the bred  heifers look, especially the ''Theos''?

GB

Lot 77 was very nice , I really liked her and I would really have liked to buy her.  She was very sound and functional, just a beauty.    Personally, I did not care for  82, but she had great epd's and would make someone a nice outcross herdbuilder female.

Cowz if you didn't get my pm we are listed as the breeder of the lot 32 and the bull. We sold the cow a few years ago but looks like the ASA hasn't got around to transferring her yet. Guess it is just more props for our program.

Some corrections on lot prices:

25A = $15k
25B = $19.5k
25C = $25k
29A = $9750
29B = $6500
29C = I missed this one, must have been in the restroom or getting something to drink.

1A = $11k
1B = $7k (these 2 lots were steals, extremely nice heifers)

2 = 15k

Top Seller lot 53B = $40k (way to much in my opinion)
53A = $8750
65 = $20k (another one that was over valued in my opinion)

For Garybob:
77 = $3900
82 = $2800
