Take a look at page 56 in the 86' herd sire issue. You do not see anything but the lassies nickers and I cant even make out the top of any of the 5 people's Heads  standing behind that big bull. If Im 60 inches then that bull was all of 70 plus inches at the hip?

I would tell the young people of steer planet that RPS  tribune was a moderate bull. I might say the Dover cattle or the Frosty Acre cattle or even Applegate of the 80's were moderate but not TRibune.

Tribune was, indeed, TOOOOOOO big. However, he went to South America, and, got the Shorthorns down there ( Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Paraguay, Venezuela) out of the mud. Those guys still had easy-keeping Scotch cattle, even as late as '89.

HOWEVER, our Amigos down there DIDN'T go nucking-futs, chasing the frame-game. Those guys used him once or twice, and then bred the offspring back-up, again, using those Pure BEEF SHORTHORN cattle.

Like all genetics, Tribune was a tool, not the hardware store.
