Shorthorn Steer

We have to tag in a steer at one of our local (Texas) shows  in mid to late novemeber.  I would like my daughter to show a shorthorn for this show.  Any ideas?

He needs to be 8-9 months now. (Oct-Nov. born)  The show is in April but we tag in Nov. 2nd.  He can't be over 800lbs at tag in.  Willing to spend around $2000.- & up to $3000. depending on steer.  Would like to get on in the next couple of months.
