If you were going to feed a commercial show heiferfor an August state fair, what commercial show feed would be the best to use?

Umbarger has always been the best for us, hands down. After that, probably goes ShowRite, Showmaster, and Purina..those 3 are pretty close, but in that order.

DO NOT USE SHOWRITE the feed does not have bovatec or ramensin, it is not even medicated. I used it last year and I screwed myself. My steer ended up getting cocidiosis and I had to treat him. So whatever you feed make sure its medicated, please learn from my mistake!

We used purina's red spring grower "textured" and worked great put just the right amount of fat on her and along with beet pulp will make her look right..

A new great feed from Purina is IMPACT Club Calf.  The commercial version has been used for the last few years with great success in Texas.  A few breed Champion at Majors on just a handful of people using it.  It is a spinoff of the commercial version and uses some unique ingredients such as fish oil.  I like the Fitters Edge and Finishing Touch from Purina also but nothing makes cattle look like they do on IMPACt club calf.  It is fed a little differently so contact your local rep for guideance.  Only available in Texas I think.

It is a starter feed, higher in protien and fiber!! We have about 5 bags of it in..I really want to try it..

Check out Rowe Nutrition. I lo am very happy with the performance of the feed rations that they offer. They are reasonably priced as well.
