Show Heifer...HELP!

I have a darn good heifer for this years season, one problem with her, she is VERY dancy and hard to work with. The show stick doesnt bother her, and actually she does well with it. When I go to stop her, she sets her feet up but immediately turns sideways. When walking, she walks VERY fast. Gave her a tube of cattle calm today when working with her outside and it didnt phase her much. Show this weekend in Ohio and I most definitely need something to take the edge off her or it wont be a pleasant show. Any ideas?

Best thing for her is to go to a show or two.

I am hoping that will help. She gets worked everyday for about three hours. I thought after continuous work she would settle in a little,and she has improved just not all the way

Some times I could never work with mine at home. But once at the show they act wonderful.......some times not though lol

My  heifer I have this year was the same way.  She would kick when you touched her with the show stick and would never walk for anyone.  Then we took her out to the Royal for the Junior show and she acted like a perfect angel.  Dispit the part where she broke my moms ribs walking in from tie outs.

How often and for how long do you tie her with head up in show position?  This can also make a big difference.

She gets tied up everyday with her head up for about 2 or 3 hours

if worst comes to worst. you can always put 1/4-1/2cc of "ace" in a 20cc syringe and fill the rest with water. then give it to them in the mouth. works after about 30 minutes and the water helps to keep the "ace" from burning the animals tongue. learned this last week at a show. worked great on one heifer that was perfect until we got to the show!
