We had a calf born last year, her dam was a purebred hereford and her sire was Cowboy Cut (only because that was the only straw left) and when she was born she was probably one of the best looking calves we've had in a while, she was like a perfect box and had plenty of hair without a cooler, and a huge appitite but when she was about a year old she started slowing down in her movements, to the point where she couldnt stand or walk because it hurt her so bad. But her appitite never changed. She started  get really skinny and we couldnt bear to see her suffer anymore so we put her down.

does anyone know what may have been wrong with her?

Only other thing I might add to beefy is the possibility of her having hardware. I've had experience with cattle that most likely got some metal in them and they go downhill fast. Not sure on how it affects joints, but they can eat and eat and be skinny as a rail.

sounds to me to be founder, hardware, or parasites..

if the vet said founder, and she had those turned up feet.. my guess is he was right..

Don't really find it necessary to be here asking questions that the vet has already answered.  JMO
