We have a couple straws of Goldmine semen in the tank. We used him a few years ago on some Angus based cows without any real success. I was just wondering what kind of cows he does work on.

He's a calving ease bull..  that's about it.  I've seen a few good ones but there has to be a lot of frame & growth behind the cow.

Need a big cow with ALOT of growth behind her in order for him to have a CHANCE of working. I've used him a couple of times on some extremely growthy purebred simmentals and he was beyond disapointing. The calves just flat out don't grow. Calving ease he certainly is but you could find several other simmental bulls that are calving ease without sacrificing anywhere near as much growth and performance you will with Goldmine. IMHO I would not use him on anything.
