Does anybody have any first hand experience with him?  Several bulls in Griswold's upcoming sale are sired by him and I'm looking for a higher % Maine bull.

Don't know much about him but his semen brought $700 a straw at the Frozen Gold Sale this past weekend.

I've seen a couple and have really liked them!  Not a whole lot of Maines in this area so my exposure is limited.

what i know about Sooner is that if you use him the wrong way, you won't get the kind of calves you want.  you have to breed him to real squatty, dumpy style cows to get something good.  to my knowledge he is not a moderator...hence, i would venture to say that one may need to be careful using his sons. ...i have seen this be the case with legacy pluss, so it may be a through back to his genetics.

I suppose it's all a matter of what kind of cow you're breeding.  Sooner has Polleroid on top and Legacy Plus on the bottom, so you know right off He will sire big, tall calves.

Yall gave me the info I needed.  I'm not really looking for a cleanup bull to downsize our females, but I sure don't want them any bigger either.
