A few thoughts before bed...................I do have issues with the show deal. I love the whole idea of kids and showing, dont get me wrong. I just think it has lost its way. I see no reason why there is such a divide. It blows my mind. I will always want to enjoy what I am looking at, and if a animal I breeds happens to win a show, well thats cool. Not my goals tho. I want to raise melt in your mouth beef on the least cost possible. I think showing cattle is a great thing and I hope it is always around, I just wish the genetics that rule that side were not so far from the genetics that rule the other side. I feel like both sides laugh and think the other side is goofy. IMO, I dont think the "supposed gap" is that wide. It may be happening now, the gap shrinking, who knows. I sure hope so. Its very rare to see a home raised animal win all the time. Wasnt that the whole point of county/ state fairs in the beginning anyways?
I said that angus bull is a 3 frame by drought, yes. He would be a 5 frame Im guessing had he had a normal diet for 2 years. He still got the cows bred and produced some sweet heifer calves. I will get some more pics of him for you vanridge.
Mark, find me a bull you think clicks and we will give him a try. We are open for suggestions at all times my friend. I think some semen on a Horse Butte Ranch bull in Montana is being bought for a few of those black cows.
And if you heard a roar coming from somewhere in Ohio, it was the Buckeye fans cheering because the freshman quarterback Braxton Miller was named the starter for the Colorado game. Next two opponents are Michigan State and Nebraska. sue and A@T, you cant let the freshman beat you guys!
