Just wanted to get anyone's opinion on this March born Bull out of Curtain Call and a powerfully made purebred maine cow.  If you don't like the picture, I can take some better ones.  The picture was taken back in September.

I like his length, balance, and neck extension, would like to see a little more depth and rib. I would take some pictures with him haired up some and with his feet showing, standing in knee high grass only makes it look like your hiding something. Not saying you are, it just gives people that impression (It was a topic on the forum awhile ago)

Thank you for the quick response.  I will try to get an updated picture up.  He is a late bloomer.

Thank you for the response. He was 6 months old in the picture. I think he is a big butted bull.

I would like to see him out of that foot of grass. It does visual make him appear deeper bodied. I too think the young picture does not show any masculinity yet. An updated photo would probably put him in a better light.

I just tried posting another picture but my computer said the file was too large.  I will work on that.

Here is another example of a calf that is not mature looking at 6 months of age.

They are not suppose to be that early maturing nor are they to be too late.

Very nice rear view pic. He appears to come straight down on those hind legs with some width.

Now curious for a new profile picture that shows him off.

I'm getting two more pictures uploaded that we had just recently taken of him.  His mom is a purebred maine cow that always throws a big hip and a great front in all her calves.  She has a great bag and gives her babies plenty of milk.  I would like to see this bull go to a good place that could use a stout, sound bull.

There you go. Really super looking bull. Masculine head, crest, muscle and plenty stout. Curtain Call himself has the perfect clubby genetics. What's the pedigree on the bottom.

Looking at his dam's papers, she is a daughter of Intense Plus out of a Yardley cow.

I think you have a really nice bull. I agree that he doesn't look masculine enough in the first picture, but in the latest pictures you provided he looks great. He's definitely well balanced and looks really thick from behind. It's hard to see how stout he is because of the angle of the last pictures but he looks to have lots of shape. Good luck getting him sold; I don't know much about clubbies but he certainly looks useful to me!

That make him more attractive, IMO. Intense Plus is Jirl Buck's TH and PHA clean version of all those great lines like Power Plus and the great cow line that produced Unlimited Plus which goes back to his famous 4072 cow.

Now what's the maternal grand sire which is below Intense Plus?

That grandsire was commercial bull that was 3/4 maine and 1/4 simmi.  I believe this is why our cow is 89% maine which is enough to call her a purebred.  Our cow is going to calve a heifer out of a son of Moose this spring.  This son of Moose is half shorthorn.  Oh we hope the heifer is a good one because we will probably keep her.  I think we will flush our cow to Chopping Wood to make some good smokies.  Then I think we will flush her with sexed Dr. Who semen.  Our cow is a 2005 model and we need to start keeping replacements.

I just sold the bull today. A big thanks to you all for your comments. I believe the comments helped sell him.
