I concur.

How much did he weigh at county?
What is his breeding?

He looks very small, is he a prospect steer?  I think he could be  clipped much tighter down his top and neck, but leave those ears alone.  There is nothing uglier than a steer with clipped ears.

Thanks for the comments.

Must be the pic that makes him look small, He weighed 1320 at a preview show a month ago. We have ben holding him back, hoping for 1350 at the fair weigh in on Monday.

He is a Paddy O Malley out of an angus/Simmi dam.

Yes, I agree he needs some more work in trimming up the neck and top.

Another note, trim that hair off his cod as well.  You may think it adds depth, but it is just distracting and actually makes it look like he slightly cuts up in the flank.

P.S.  The gentleman in the photo holding the steer must be TALL!

Our county shows by hip height. Have you checked his hip height. The second picture he looks reallly small. The gentleman must be very tall.

Nice depth of body good hair. Looks little short necked and body. Like to lenghten him out a bit. Like the first pic better than the second.

generally I would agree about not clipping ears, however I think a little trim would refine his look. I don't mean shave them, just a trim.

OK; took a couple more pics of the steer today. I think I got him at a better perspective that the first one. Do you think I need to shorten the tail a little more or leave it like it is?

The second pic in the original post is the same calf last fall shortly after we purchased him. Sorry for the confusion.

Washing the hogs tonight and loading them on the trailer. Heading to the fair with the hogs and steer 6:30 am tomorrow, hog show is Monday at 4:00 PM and steer show is Tuesday at 4:00.
