We just had our first calf of the season today!!! He is a Purple Tonic out of a Remitall Online x CS Boomer 29F heifer. 66lbs unassisted. Up and milking within the hour. Pretty good start so far, I hope the rest of them come out this good! He was three weeks early, but I guess it was time to come out.

How do you like the Tonic calves????    Sounds like they are doing pretty good.

We've got one right now out of a wideload cow, calved March of last year. He adds a little bone, some length, a little depth, and a good front. But you really cant beat him for successful calving ease that is a good outcross to most cows.

He's not a big time cow changer, but no calving ease hereford sires are. I'd say he's probaly your best bet for a good competitive calf out of a first calf heifer.
