I don't know what kind of speech you need but I did a speech on Curly Calf (AM) for FFA and did very well. Its a hot topic and fairly new.

How about genetic defects, how they occur and are spread in the population, and how to manage for them. And you could focus on the recent Angus genetic defects if you want to feature that breed in a speech.

angus breeders who do linebreeding.  you could call them up.  most probably would talk with you.  they probably did it for a variety of reasons, including identifying recessive defects and eliminating them in their herd.  you would learn what a test cross is, lots of things.
