This kind of goes along with the Show Sheen and vinegar topic. What kind of home remedies and potions does everybody use to fight off the flies, mosquito's, and all other pesky critters on their animals?

We use bronco fly spray. You have to reapply it every 10-14 days but its cheap. We get it at tractor supply. You can also mix it with your clean sheen and vinegar, but I think its over kill.

Cylence is a pour on specifically for lice and flies.  Label says its good for about three weeks.  We use it mainly for lice, but it does help reduce the need for external fly sprays.  I also put the insecticide ear tags in our show calves for the summer.  I don't like using sprays anymore than I have to.  I'll spray the barn more than I will the calves.

I just wonder if you use the spray and pour on's and then if you rinse daily and wash every couple of days, does it reduce the usefullness of either applications?
