I have done some searching on this site regarding Stabilized Rice Bran and I think it would benefit my son's steer. My son's Eye Candy steer is about 3 months away from its final show and weighs 1255 lbs. I would say his is approximately 85%-90% finished, lower ribs and flank need more fat. Over the past couple weeks he really has slowed down on his grain intake and seems to be getting real lazy. I was told that Eye Candy steers are hard to put weight on after they hit 1200-1250 lbs. Since that is a possibility and he hasn't been eating very well, I started giving him 1 block of good alfalfa every evening and some probios every so often. Sounds like the Stabilized Rice Bran could help me get him totally finished, possibly put on a little more muscle and keep his hair healthy. Since I have no experience with the stuff, I would like the folks that have used it to give me opinions on whether I should keep with same routine (since he still has almost 3 months before his last show) or start feeding him some stabilized rice bran. One more thing, it might not matter but I plan to use a supplement that will add muscle similar to showmaxx 20-40 days prior to the show, if I can find something since Showmaxx isn't available anymore.
