What are some tips for fitting a steer? I've been brushing him everyday and washing him at least every other day, but so i'll have to clip him. Any ideas?

If you have never clipped a steer, have someone that has with you or at least watch a clipping video such as Stierwalt's clipping video on DVD. You can mess a steer up real fast if you don't know what you are doing. It is hard to explain by typing what to look for when clipping as there is so many different things to do. The good clipping DVD's are worth the money, invest the money in one.

He has a good amount of hair and I have watched a few youtube videos. I have clipped a few steers before but just not with this much hair...

Definitely agree with Zack, if you are new to it, the best thing you can do is watch the pros and ask lots of questions in order to understand why they are doing things a certain way.  What works for one animal won't necessarily work for another.
