Had a fairly nice day yesterday and took the opportunity to get some calves cleaned up and pictures. This is my younger brothers Shorthorn Plus steer.
Hee is a late April, How Bout It X Bad Moon Rising dam. HE IS GEARED FOR AN OCTOBER FAIR.

Thanks for the comments. We cannot take credit for raising him. My brother bought him from OH Breeder, back in October. We are very pleased with how he is coming along, and will definately be looking through Shawn's calves again next year.

Looks great Quinton...if he keeps looking this good and is right on for that fair in October, try and coast him to KC or NAILE.  He should get noticed in the showring....good work raising another good one Shawn!

I have rolled the NAILE idea around a little bit in my head, however our county show is unfortunately a fully terminal deal. All steers shown MUST be sold and slaughtered. We could possibly "buy him" from my brother and mark him as a "keep" sending him to a local processor we know and then take him from there. Who knows. We have a few goals for this guy...our county cattlemen's jackpot in April, the Ohio Jr Shorthorn Preview, and then of course our county fair. I know of about hald a dozen pretty good steers geared for our fair, so we'll see what happens.

I really need to get him totally clipped out, but the weather here in OH tends to be hit and miss. I ROUGHED him out a little for the pictures, but he really needs a LOT more work.

He most certainly should get some looks, one would think. He is super flashy (clapping) He also has tremendous bone for being such a young little dude. Shawn told me that beofre we came to see him. I was really impressed with Shawn and his family's ability to produce some great calves. He is a great guy to work with, and we plan to do business with him again.

I'd say he could be a little deeper but that will come with the feed.  He will make a cool looking fat!  Make sure to post more pics as he progresses!  Gotta love that color!

Thanks Q. The good care is showing. you all have done a great job taking care of him. Always a big worry of a breeder is getting them in the right hands. We think we did!
Thanks Justin as well. Much appreciated. We only sell two or three a year. He is one of the three. We are anxious to see how Q does as well. Plan on being there to lend a hand.

The white legs should not be a big issue. My last year as a junior, I had an ALL WHITE, yep you read that correctly, Shorty steer. Talk about a lot of work (lol)

i love the three fourths angled shot and the behind one. he looks good in the first one but i don't think it does his bone and thickness justice. he's just really attractive. i agree with the feed comment and how that will soften him up and give some depth.  we sold one that is not as extreme in bone or thickness but was similar in the fact that he was smaller and had that same kind of look and he is finally starting to soften up. he will be shown in august so i think that your steer is on the right track.
