We've got three steers for sale.

This calf should have a very good chance to classify Angus at Texas majors.  He's a September calf out of a Shamrock x Anchor bull and a straight Angus cow.   Identical breeding to a calf my son placed 5th with in Fort Worth this year.

Sep. 5 steer out of Tyson x Meyer GD.  This is a very solid steer.  No real holes at all, very smooth made.  He's already slipping his hair, but he had lots earlier this winter.

Sep. 3 Golden Child steer out of a Cunia grandaughter (sire was Cunia x Foreplay's dam).  I "missed" this calf earlier this year and he just got weaned yesterday.  He's never had bite of creep feed.  Beautiful profiling steer with as good a hair as they come.  Very long necked (lump on jaw is from halter, he came straight from momma to the clipping barn yesterday - he didn't pull much, but he still swole up a little bit).  I also think he's going to be very gentle.  Put him on finisher now and feed him hard and he could get very good in a hurry.

Calves are priced at $1500 each.  I'd make an even better deal on all three as a group.  I'm ready to get them to good homes.  If you have any interest, I can be reached at 817.368.2985.

This was the only Tyson calf we had this year.  I was hoping to get some heifers from him, but this steer has turned out pretty nice.

A few folks had PM'd me wanting to see rear views of the Tyson calf.  I got a few more right before dark last night.

One got real close (within a couple of miles of us) but it didn't get our land.  There were lots of houses actually lost.  I haven't heard how many, but probably dozens.  Ranch headquarters of J.S. Birdwell got burned up I was told.  We spent last night helping get people into the Baptist Church in our town that got turned into a shelter by the Red Cross.  People started showing up and didn't know where to go so we wound up escorting folks to the church.  Once we realized people were showing up lost, we just started looking for them and escorting to them to the right place.  Lots of scared people.  Several small towns surrounding us had to be evacuated.

I hope it rains Saturday night like its supposed to.

Where are yall from that you heard about our fires?

From what I'm reading this morning on some of the others close by, Doug Satree's place might have been real close to if not in a big one that killed some people near a little bitty town called Montague.
