With the Summer Winding down, we will soon say good bye to some of my favorite things to eat?  Just thought it be fun to see what others enjoy during the Summer!

1. Fresh Salsa;  Not the canned stuff.  We actually buy the veggies throughout the year and make big batches to snack on.  The garden fresh ingred. are the best!

1. Tied:  Sweet Corn on the Cob;  Especially roasted on the Grill.

3.  Ribeye:  The latest 4-H Project on the Grill!

4.  Smocks: Grill Roasted veggies: Tators, Onions, Carrotts, Green Peppers

5.  Footlong Brats loaded with the fixings, State Fair Style

6.  A good old State Fair Corndog in Cornhusker Land!

7.  Creamy Cuccumbers!

8.  BLT: With fresh Tomatos and Lettuce

Did I miss any?

I forgot a couple: My Oldest Son Grant(9) would definately want Grandma's Mullberry Pie and good old Smores made by the campfire at the cabin thrown in there!

1. Brisket, beans, potato salad, and a cold beer.

2. Boiled Crawfish, corn, and potatoes.

3. Funnel Cakes. Or anything from the county or state fair.

i'd have to say cream cheese and brown sugar on RIPE strawberries.  then take the juice from the strawberries, and put it on strawberry shortcake, yes the gross twinkie types or a good pound cake with homemade vanilla ice cream.

trying to find clever ways to hide zucchini in foods. I have a great bread & chocolate cake recipe.
My favorite is a hollowed tomato w/ tuna salad.
Also a good ribeye on grill
potato salad made w/ red potatoes
sun tea (unsweetened)
homemade ice cream w/ almost anything on it

- Fresh home grown tomatos on a ham sandwich.
-Watermelon. My watermelon this year weighs 116 lbs (last year's was 108). I can't eat it until after it's judged this week though!
-Beef, of course.

And since this week is our district fair:
-Funnel cakes
-Corn dogs
-BBQ brisket sandwich

and for fair drinks:
-Lemon shake ups
-Tea from the McCalister stand. You can buy a cup for $2 and a refill for $1 if you keep the cup. I keep mine for a long time as long I can. I always have to wash them since the barn is so dusty. lol

Had some corn roasted in the shuck Labor day weekend that couild be the best I have ever eaten. Nothing beats beef on the grill, but I am so with Knabe, those strawberrys are my favorite. Also add blue berries and black berries to the list.
