Has anyone used or heard about  Sunglo products called Epic and Full Tank?  If so what could you tell me about it and how far before a show did you start them?  The Epic is for hair growth and the Full Tank they say fills out better than beet pulp.  Thanks in advance.

They say for best results, use Epic at least 60 days out from your target show, with even better results at 90 days. But I've heard that there are noticeable results at as little as 30 days. From what I've heard, this is the best hair supplement out there.

Full Tank has worked best for us when we start using it at least a week out from the show, and I'm sure you could feed it year round. We used it on a heifer from NAILE to NWSS this year and there as a definite result.  I do like beet pulp for summer time though, because we feed it wet and it adds so much volume and helps with hair too.

We dont feed full tank year around anymore, just a few weeks prior to show time..but we soak beet pulp year around for all sorts of good reasons!!!

The hair product Epic has the perfect name, it is Epic. If you have a slicked off calf(naturally) and start it on it, within 2 weeks you will actually have hair that you can comb. Around 45 days you can have hair that people will be asking if you have a cooler. And 60 days you will have a good full hair coat. Haven't ever feed it for more than 60 days, or needed to. If you calf has genetics for hair, it will have hair while being feed Epic.

Full Tank works great about 2 weeks out.  I'm not sure any of the hair stuff works as well as just keeping them out of the sunlight.

I agree with that for sure, but I think the Epic gives  you an edge when everything else is the same.

Yes I will also say that it boosts the appetite some, and gives them a good shiny coat.

I havent used Epic yet but I have had great results with Full Tank, we actually only feed it the night before and only water them slightly then in the morning we feed it again and let them drink all they want about 5 hours before show time if you can and they look like they have 55 gallon drums inside them yet will never bloat on the stuff. I use it at every show

We've got a feb 09 sim heifer that we are taking to regionals and she is really pretty deep right now, but I have never heard of one criticized for being to deep.  Thought I might give it a try for more spring than anything.  Good to hear about the other benefits as well with the epic.  I am a sucker for stuff that makes em grow a shag!

I've been feeding full tank pretty much the past 6 months adding to my mixture.  Especially has worked great on our heifer.  She loves to eat and it's helped fill her up without getting her too fat.  Our son's done good with her she's real deep and we think she's beautiful!  I've also been adding to our steers just cause they like it better than the beet pulp.  That stuffs high down here too and seems to make em cough more.  Had alot of trouble with one of our steers anyhow early on couldn't swallow good seemed like got worse when I added beet pulp so went to the tank.  Been real pleased with it.  Didn't need the epic ours had tons of hair this year anyhow...

Wet beet pulp or dry?? Dry beet pulp does nothing for us...we have much better results with wet beet pulp and there is no choking!!

I think even dry beet pulp does a good job for us...I like feeding it wet a lot more, but that can get pretty hard to do up here in the winter. In the winter I think of it more as a source of fiber and a little bit of fill, whereas in the summer it has many benefits when fed wet.

I shouldnt say it doesnt do anything, but we just get better results from it being wet for sure. We are fortunate enough to be able to feed it year around, dont have to worry about to much freeze, haha!

What are the ingredients in the Full Tank product?
We have used Sumo, but found that the same thing can be purchased directly from the dairies for much cheaper - well out here in CA, much cheaper.

There are very limited distributors out here, so getting the product is tough. If anyone can take a pic of the tag that is clear that would be great!! Or just list the ingredients.

I've fed it both ways.  I really haven't ran the numbers on the difference and price.  The good beet pulp is pretty pricey and seems like it goes fast.  I probably should have tried harder feeding it wet but just more trouble.  Sometimes its a time issue with us so the full tank is easier but probably is more expensive really not sure.  Feed about 2-4 lbs a day per head.

Do your show cattle get loose droppings when fed full tank?  Mine always seems to.
