I was checking my cows today when I noticed that my Simmi cow wasn't around.  I went looking for her and found her with a new born calf.  Imagine my suprise, I didn't even think that she was bred for a fall calf.  I thought that she was bred for a late Feb calf.  So end of story I now have a nice new BLACK heifer calf.

I had a surprise show up at my house too, but it was a cow.  Nobody around here wants to claim her.  I've named her Mystery.  My son asked me if it should be Mystery Meat (like the cafeteria food at school).  Anyone loose a young cow in NW Missouri?lol

If no one claims it. Watch it turn out to be the best cow you ever had and not know the bloodline.

I have no clue????  Some black bull.  The simmi is a red and my bull is a shorthorn.  I think that it might be my neighbors bull that he had to get rid of for jumping fences.  But as of right now I have a new recip prospect.  The momma milks really good so I am hoping that this one can also.
