I think both bulls were/are very instrumental during times of rapid change (Upsizing/Downsizing) of body type, growth rate, and mature frame size. These 2 bulls are polar opposites of one another.

We bought an Anchor son this year, so you have to know I like him and appreciate what he does.  But, there are other Angus bulls you can do that with.  Maybe not as good, but you can get there.

At the time, I think Ildeno was the only one that could do what he did.  So he gets my vote.

^ Exactly.  How is anyone supposed to pick between 2 polar opposites?   Almost nobody would use Ildeno now & almost nobody would've used Anchor then.

Tim Ohlde had a hand in both bulls. It would sure be interesting to know what he thinks. We used a lot of Ildeno in his day, and on the basis of disposition alone, I had to vote for Anchor.
