Swelling question

I know this doesnt exactly pertain to cattle, and im sorry. But i have a lamb that will be going to the fair in a month and recently he has swelled up around his brisket area. There is no cut so we are not sure what it is from. It has been a week and so far the swelled area went from soft to hard. If anyone has medication recomendations that are within the withdrawal period plz let me know; also if anyone can think of a reason as to why he would swell up? thank you!

Might be a hematoma - it's not unusual for lambs to cause them by pushing or bumping it on something.  Check to see that he is not doing this somehow.

I would not hesitate to have your vet take a look.
