I took some pictures of a 3/4 Maine cow in the pasture.  She is a Swoosh X Cigar.  Any opinions?

She is a beautiful sow!  I would add a bit of overall smoothness, and a bit of length.  That would refine her up a bit.

I have seen this cow in person and let me tell you guys she is the real deal!  When I saw her I was amazed at how thick an powerful she was.  From what I remember of her I don't think the pictures do her justice but alot of times pictures dont for any animal.  I would love to have a whole pasture full of cows just like her!!  She is awesome!!

Nice lookin cow for sure. Just way to damn big for my operation. Dirty Harry should work wonders on her for downsizing calves to moderate frame. Some of the cigars were big but most made really good cows...in their day.

She sure looks familiar. Do you mind telling me where you bought her?

We actually raised her.  She's an 8 year old cow.

Like Mrs Gump says, "Pretty is as Pretty does"... the proof is in the calves, I think she looks great. Is she having a calf every year? Is it a great one? I think we all have to judge our cows by production, not phenotype. Rod has a little knot of a cow that has raised a great calf 2 years in a row, I probably wouldn't have bought her as a heifer, now I probably couldn't afford her

I'm guessing she weighs between 1,700 and 1,800.  Or somewhere in there.

The 2 best looking cows we have, still have not produced a calf worth mentioning....they don't milk and keep themselves in good shape not raising a very good calf.

(clapping) I know just what you mean, we had a couple of those, we have culled pretty hard the past couple of years and they went to town!

that was one of 3 things (among many) tim ohlde taught me.  cull cull cull.  the other two were, if you go to town, do more than one errand, and the third was what a good udder looked like was not species dependent.

Tim Ohlde probably told ya that no cow needs to weigh over 1400lbs. to be a good one .And he is right on. That cow in the post is a very nice lookin cow. Those kind of cows cost quite a bit more to keep, but to each his own. They just don't work for everyone. {I've known Tim for over 30 years and have had many of cow calf discussions on purebreds and clubbies].
