We currently have a steer that has a small twist. It takes away from his eye appeal but its not that much of an issue. If you pull away the hairs, the very tip is bald. Will this ever grow back? Is there anything you can do to help this? Thanks!

From my experience, if it's gone then it's gone. That's what I've seen, but maybe others have had better luck with it. However, having said that anyone judging a steer or any animal for that matter should never be looking at the quality of said animal's switch when forming their opinions. As you say, it may take away some eye appeal but that's about it.

I know a lot of the Holstein guys around here put in a fake tail. I think there must still be some hair to attach the fake switch too, but I can't say for sure as I have never used one. call Sullivan supplies, they may be able to tell you how to use one if you think that is an option.
