TCCA/TJLA ABC Heifer shows - need advice please

My daughter has a brahman heifer that we are not able to register, however she is full blooded.  We are thinking about taking her the TCCA camp in May and getting her classified as an ABC heifer - have to exhibit at least half brahman characteristics, which of course she will have no problem doing.  My duaghter could then do some jackpots with her this summer/fall.  My concern is, being full blood brahman, how will she compete against the crosses?  How competitive are the ABC heifer shows in Texas?

It will vary from show to show.  Some may have very few, while others such as BBB may be very competitive.  What is your goal?

I agree with rackranch .. it varies from show to show . We have been showing this heifer for 18 months , with a lot of success , she's a smilin bob x brangus . we mostly show against brangus crosses and star 5 gerts . We don't see many 1/2 brahman's at the shows , but i don't see why a good one can't be competitive .

Our heifer is actually full blood Brahman.  For some reason the cow was never registered but the bull is.  I was just wondering if a full Brahman could compete against the crosses?  Our plan is to hit some jack pots for fun and get some experience for my daughter.  But we also don't want to be last in class every time. That's no fun!!

I'm not sure a full blood brahman would fit in .. sorry , i read it wrong the first time .. had half-blood on my mind .

We were in nearly the exact same situation with our beefmaster heifer. Her sire is full blood registered and the dam is beefmaster advancer being 7/8 beefmaster 1/8 limousine that was not registered as a percentage beefmaster. This left us with a 94% heifer we don't have papers on. We did several jackpots with her and she did very well. She either won or got second in her class at everyone we went to. In the shows that had a supreme champion drive she got third in all of them. The only thing she couldn't get around was the shorthorn and the angus heifers. At one show a Brahman got reserve and she got 3rd. This past week at our county show she placed 2nd in her class and 4th in the champion drive of 44 heifers. She beat a lot of chars and angus/ angus crosses. We talked to the judge after the show and he told us if your heifer is good it doesn't matter what breed they are. The point to this ramble is if your Brahman is good she will do good.
