Are you talking about a Breeding Soundness Exam, or are you wanting to put your bulls on a Performance Test? You'll probably want to do a BSE, but you might want to check with your vet to see what needs to be done area specifically. http://www.ansc.purdue.edu/exten/singleton/bse/

I would say for sure have them pha and th tested, and have a BSE done on them, and if they have good sized testicles on them put how big they are on your add(just for DL) (clapping)

Well i would contact elder, Cristy collions, brad hook or someone  like that and get their photos taken and then send it to a printing company, like Morris cattle company, their link is in the breeders section, and get them to make a full page add for each of your bulls,  and give Them all your info, Th and PHA status, birth weights, sire, dam, any special stuff (like if mom was grand overall female at the NWSS)  and then get those adds all over the place, your website, magizines(showbox, Maine Anjou voice, there are others but cant think of them), and send the photo of your bulls to the semen distributors and all the info and see if they will sell the semen. It also Helps a lot if you have a well known name or have some one with a well known name on the adds.

good luck hope i helped a little bit, if not tell me and i will try it again ;D

For TH and PHA testing, you will want to get your vet to collect a blood sample on each bull. You can send this to Dr. Jonathon Beever at AgriGenomics Inc. Ph: (217) 841-0813, as this lab does both tests. The forms and procedures you will need to get done are available through this lab, so give them a call and they will be able to help you out.

The TH test is $27, I can't remember what it costs for PHA testing, but I believe it is something similar.

I would call SEK and ask them what steps need to be taken to promote a bull, it is VERY expensive to do and without a semen company ready to handle him it would also be a huge waste of money.  I was told 8-10 years ago that to promote a bull correctly you should budget about 30,000 and I'm sure that figure has gone up by now.  It sounds to me like you are still trying to learn the basics as you go and that could be very costly, I guess if I had a really great one I would find someone that has done this before and see if you can go in as partners and they teach you what you need to know maybe for a percent of the bull, just a thought.  Good Luck
