Heard this tonight from the speaker at an Academic Leadership awards assembly.

How to be a Winner!  You must have a Magic Wand

W - Work  (nobody ever wins anything without Hard Work)

A - Avoid  (Alcohol, Drugs & Tobaco.  There is No place for any of these with a winner)

N - Never  (Never quit.  Winners never quit, and quitters never win)

D - Dream  (Dream Big, and  keep Dreaming forever)

I can't believe there has been not a single reply to this post.  We have people on SP all the time complaining about the Steer Jocks, Professional Fitters, Political Judges, Twisted Rules, County Fair Cheaters, and on and on and on!!!

I've just supplied the Secret Code which expels every excuse in the book, AND NO REPLY!!!  Ingrates......

Purple for all those Ribbons most will never win.

AAOK -- really good points and hard to argue with any of the 4 premises, but I know a few people who can meet each of the WAND criteria and are still ethically challenged.  They are some hard working, clean living, big dreaming, no quit cheaters.
