what is the perfect show steer for you? I personally like the thick calves that are big and will dress out nicely. In my mind the bigger and more balanced you can get him the better you are and also soundness is a huge factor in the shows today.

I personally like the big, stout, and soggy made steers. I love sound, functional cattle aswell. Thickness and square hip is another huge factor, also easy feeding cattle are a must.

But how many times has the real thick show steer that can't walk out as well win the show over a calf that isn't quite as thick but walks real well? I see it quite a bit at the county level.
