I am stealing this from the SimTalk magazine, but since I have read this, I can't find a more true statement:

Visual analysis tells you what a bull/cow APPEARS to be.
The pedigree/EPD's tell you what they SHOULD be.
Their performance and progeny tests tell you what they ACTUALLY are.


(I tweaked it a bit....) but a more true statement you will not find!

hey show heifer, that's the best.  this is why when i am screening animals to breed the touchstone to, i don't care what they look like other than a couple of things.

I agree totaly with this. To many times people get caught up with the visual and pedigree part of cattle and dont rely on what they can acualy produce. JMHO
