This is a TRM kudzu 4066 x 214 cow (Angus/ Hereford cross) bull calf 14 hours old. Any early thoughts on him?

Any advice. the cow won't stay with the calf and the calf wont follow the cow, but as soon as i go see her she runs to the calf and he sucks for a couple minutes and then stops. is there anything wrong

I wouldn't worry about the heifer too bad, heifers tend to be, for lack of a better phrase, stupid. And they will hide their calves and forget about them until their bag gets tight. Just check on the calf in the morning and evening and make sure he is up and looks good. It's hard to tell with the photos (tall grass) but he looks nice and long bodied, wait a week and then put up some other photos where you can see his body a little better. Looks good though, right size bw

update on the calf. He's a week old and full of energy. Thoughts?
