Hey...Just wanna throw out there that my theories on color are just that...theories. I'm not an expert on color genetics...just a student of observation, almost all of which has been with Simmental & Simmental crossbred cattle. I like to read about color genetics, and I always try to make sense of colors and markings I see. I can't say I'm positive that the genes that cause similar markings in different breeds are exactly the same genes, but I don't know they're not the same, either. Black is black, and red is red...markings may be that simple and they may not be!
My guess would be that bull would get very little white on Angus or other solid black cows that don't have a recessive spot gene. Using him on Simmental or Maines that do have white markings or carry a spotting gene, I suspect you MIGHT get a lot of chrome in some instances, but it's not going to happen every time.
That would be my educated guess, but it's just a guess.
