What's everyone thoughts on timed breeding. Vs natural heat detection?
What are realistic conception rates?

Lots of variables in times breeding. But I seemed to do real well on heifers.last year 8 out of 10 and this year 5 out of 5.Cows I probably hit around 75 %.It can trigger a heat that may not have happened as quick out in pasture with bull. But like I say.too many variables that you need to adress also to get good conception.

Breed them on natural heats if you can reliably detect estrus, but if you're just guessing/inexperienced on when they're in heat then you're probably better off using timed. A combination of the 2 can work too if you have the ability to AI multiple different times over the course of a few days (look in the Genex beef sire catalog towards the back for examples on how to set this up).

As for conception rates, I believe the beef cattle timed AI average is currently around 60% or a bit better and (accurately detected and properly timed) natural heats are usually about 15-20% higher than whatever the operation's timed rates typically are. There are a lot of variables outside the cow that can drastically impact the conception rates. Plenty of people do much better and plenty of people do much worse.

Many reasons a person can not breed A.I., on visual sightings.  It is a personal preference.

That is what synchronization Protocols were made for.

Why keep asking people their reasons, or why they can not breed on visual sittings?

They are looking for help, information, and experiences.  Not to be questioned.

C’mon people...

Have always went off natural heats. Seems to have worked well. Reason timed breeding seemed like something to consider is getting cows sent to pasture sooner. Thanks for the input
