I just pulled myself away from the Bowl Games, and saw this post.  Thanks for the assist Red!  Congratulations to K & V, and to Buleberry Muffin.  Her little bull looks great!  Blueberry looks to be doing well also.  You've done a good job with her.

Have a Funky New Year!
Dan

What's her TH/PHA status? She shows to have a lot of Physical Traits that equate to production genetics. Not all retired show heifers are "duds" as far as being an easy-keeping, fertile, durable brood cow with longevity. I just wish folks would cull (instead of flush embryos) from the ones that don't. Many people's first and final impressions of Shorthorn and Shorthorn-cross Brood Cows are associated with Show heifers after they are bred. This can either be good, or bad, depending upon a lot of factors.

I'm jealous, because your Bermuda Grass is still green. Ours is Yellow and Frozen.

Unforantly she is both a TH and PHA carrier. We were very disappointed when we got the test results back. She is one of my favorites. She is a real easy keeper. We turned her out to pasture during her pregnancy and she held up real well. Web are going to try and AI her to Sin City for her next calf. A lot of our cows we have now are retired show heifers. A lot of them have been real good cows and then some have been terriable.
By the way our nice green grass will no longer be after tonight. We have a freeze coming tonight. They say it will be record temps.
