I have a shorthorn cow that is 5 years old. She always bred with no problem, but last year we AI'd her 3 times and bred her to a bull and she still came back open. We decided to keep her over the winter and try again this spring. So far we have AI'd her twice and the second time she seemed to go over and then a couple days ago she came back in. So she is now in with our crossbred bull.
We have had the vet check her twice and he says she feels normal and there should be no problem getting her bred. We have treated her for infection. Is there anything that can be done to figure out what the problem is?
It would kill me to sell her because she has had calves sell for $3000 and $3500 and all have been champions!
