We've calved out several 24-month old Bold Statement and Golden Child heifers in the past few weeks.  These females are doing fine jobs as young mommas so far.  In addition to making great looking two year old heifers, we've had no calving trouble whatsoever (calves out of Northern Improvement, Triple X (ZNT's bull), and a purebred Angus (Anchor son) from Griswold).  All of them we have possess good udders and are taking care of their babies just fine.  I'll get some photos up one of these days.

I put photos up last year of this little spotted Golden Child heifer we raised.

She's turning out nicely for us last year.  We've only showed her twice.  She held her own back in May against some really tough competition and was reserve Chi.  We showed her yesterday in a smaller show (around 50 hd total I think) and won grand overall.  We were pretty tickled as it was my son's first time to win Grand Overall with a steer or heifer.  We had major camera issues yesterday and most blurred on us, but here are some of the ones that turned out.

I like seeing photos of babies and then what they turn into later.  Thought some of you might like the same.

Short story is she has turned into a very competetive heifer for the Chi classes in Texas.  Her older Golden Child-sired mates from our cowherd are doing great for their first month of "motherhood".  One of them has  a super bull calf out of Northern Improvement that looks like he will make a show steer.

It was nice to finally meet you yesterday.  My son was very happy about it (as was dad and mom).
