We've gotten started weaning and clipping calves.  Here are a few.

Rocky Balboa x Friction.  This is my favorite calf right now.  Could be a touch stouter in the rear end, but he is super pretty.

Tyson x Meyer GD.  We like him a lot.  Not really any holes, just will be a question of how stout he gets when he matures.

Golden Child x Meyer GD.  My son is going to show this little heifer as a Chi.  She doesn't show it here, but she has the prettiest neck and is super stout.  Right now she moves great.  If she doesn't get too tight as she grows up, she should be a nice one.  Her momma's track record says she should be fine.

Yellowjacket x Cunia GD.  This one's my "question mark".  Super heavy boned and thick, but not as pretty as I'd hoped, but also not sure it will matter as a slick.  He actually has very nice hair for a yellow calf.

I've got two Heat Waves (one red and one black) clipped that weren't feeling like "posing" that day that I'll get pictured later plus several more to wean and clip in the next few weeks.

RB x Friction is looking good. Nice set of calves. How'd you get along in your back yard? Brent

The Fort Worth Commercial Heifer sale was well set up to be a disaster - bad economy, low gas/oil prices down here, and right in the middle of a drought.  Luckily, it turned out better than I feared.  Our top two pens brought $1500/pair and our third pen brought $1300/pair.  Certainly not great, but not that bad either.  Most of the cattle in the brought in that range.  I don't think anything dropped under a $1000.  A couple of Griswold's pens got up to and over $2K.

The calves are a little distorted on my screen but they look great. You could send any one of them my way!

very nice set of calves--looking forward to more!!  We have a smoke out of yellow jacket that is the exact same as your yellow steer.
