Have a cow that calved 2 weeks ago. She was induced & it was a hard pull. She cleaned out but now has a milky white/bloody discharge. No smell (yes, I smelled it) Eating fine & milking good. No temp.
What is the best antibiotic to give her? After my ordeal w/ penicillin I'm leery of it.
Thanks!

There are several approaches one could take and I am going to assume that she palpates normally (ie no lacerations etc)
1) do nothing wait until she comes into heat and see if it clears up
2) lutalyse in a week or so to see if she clears up
3) talk to your vet but both Excenel and Naxcel (same drug different formula) are good for metritis with short meat withhold - more expensive than PNC (so is about everything except maybe LA 200!)

Thanks DL- we treated her w/ Naxel. I'll watch her but it will probably be a little before she comes back in heat.
