Welp, we got a call today from our rep. He said he got a note earlier that we had filled our tank with Rocky Mountain. Well, we didn't want him coming by and charging for the visit, so we just wanted him to skip a cycle. That was in June. To make a long, painful story short, I really do need to buy semen now. Everything I had is gone. But I could just puke. We lost dang near 30 straws of EXT. We got the call during dinner and it took us a while to choke it down. Let's get off of that one. On the other hand, I was at NWSS today to clip and fit Lowlines for a local gal. Had a ball and learned a lot of new things too. But, I think it sealed the deal. Fitting at National Western officially has me hooked. I have some real motivation now. My show barn is getting really seriously awesome (insulated, new cooler in the works) and I'm excited to see what we do at summer shows this summer. OFS, how in the world did I not see you up there? I checked around for you. Seen Lazy G, I was right down from you fitting for Echo Valley Ranch. Anyhow, life's good overall and I'm ready for new calves and might even have fun restocking the tank.

That sure is a shame , sorry for the bad luck.
My neighbor called me from Denver today to tell me they had the Reserve Grand Angus bull, that was some good news.  Sure wish I was out there.

Hey Cade, I bet you did see me. I was fitting right down from you at Glen Benjamin and Janis Black's stalls. We had calf champion fullblood, reserve junior champ percentage, and reserve fullblood cow/calf. Also had 1st and 2nd in a percentage class, and 3rd in class to the grand fullblood.  How did you do, and will you be there tomorrow? I'll be around, shoot me a text or something when you get in if you come.  If you heard anything about a couple of fitters from IL and FL (mostly about them being good I hope), that was me and Totten Club Calves on here.

Really too bad about your tank, but if you need any horn semen, I got some that would suit you just fine.  I can track down other semen if you know what you need as well.

Holy smokes, you must have been those jock looking guys that looked like pros.  ;D EVR thought I had done a heck of a job 'til we got up there with the big guys.   ;) Oh well, had a blast anyway. Man, I will be there!! Tomorrow like 2 or 3. If you could shoot me a PM with your # I'll send you a text when I get down there. Thanks for the offer on semen. I was starting to save on a truck, but we may have to put that on hold. Well, we'll chit chat in the yards. Lazy G, wish I could get there earlier. We're coming for an evening horse event though. Had to say you had some nice ones though.

Thanks, we appreciate it!  Showed a few fullblood heifers and all 3 were 2nd in their class, and one was reserve champ in her division.  Bulls tomorrow, cross your fingers for us!  Had Justin & company check out our bulls earlier today, think they liked them.

Tough loss... I know someone else had that happen... lost a bunch of old simmy semen for the yesteryear...  expensive semen, and some embryos too...

To Cade, Justin, or anyone else...  We'll help you refill your tank... Matter of fact, we're getting our herd bull collected tommorrow.. and are willing to make some pretty darn good deals with the whole SP gang!  His picture is below...  If  your interested, just let me know..

Heh, I wondered who ended up with Dr. Feelgood. Good looking bull. Course, OFS might want me to get some from his bull too. Oh well, need to fill the tank up full anyway.

Sorry for your loss of your semen bank Cade. We try to set our tank somewhere that we walk by often. Then as you are walking by make a habit of just lifting on one handle. Listen for a rocking noise and you will also easily be able to tell by the weight if it is getting low. Hope this helps alleviate troubles down the road.
