Champion was the Maine or Mainetainer--van Vliet's ? I don't remember the order of the next 4, but I believe they included the Angus (Schneider), commercial ( Irwin girl from Crawfordsville are), reserve Maine or Maintainer, and either the Foundation or Simmy champion (Pemberton?). Not huge numbers at the show. By the way, the Angus steer was in the top 5, not the Char if I remember correctly. There was a cool Char appearing steer in the top 5, but he showed as a Maine.mooch said:Any body know the heifers?
Fifth was a "char appearing" steer that showed as a Maine--I believe he came from Jeff Maas--shown by Ihns?iowabeef said:So was 5th a yellow char or a cream colored maine?
I think those are pretty good numbers...better than last year there and really good considering there were two points shows in the state that day.

Sure could be--wouldn't be the first time I got faulty information! ;Dmooch said:PLKR said:Fifth was a "char appearing" steer that showed as a Maine--I believe he came from Jeff Maas--shown by Ihns?iowabeef said:So was 5th a yellow char or a cream colored maine?

I think Ihn's steer came from Downing's fall bid-off
I am certain he was NOT in the top 5 steers--their comm. hfr. WAS in the top 5...did she come from Maas? ;Dforcheyhawk said:Yeah very flashy. I would agree that it wasn't the soundest but compared to the other Simmy steers he sure stood out.
